# 5.1.5. Lists

A **list** is a tabular representation of the data elements associated with all the active, and past active, geographic objects (records) of a given type at a given point in time.

Lists represent the most familiar way for users to look at the information associated with any type of geographic object. When they are authoritative and curated by the mandated governmental entity, these lists, referred as **master lists** in this case, also serve as a ground reference to assess the completeness, uniqueness, timeliness, validity, and consistency of the geospatial data also hosted in a common geo-registry, as well as a denominator for the implementation of any public health program.

For example:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.geoprismregistry.com/readme/current-1/geoprism-registry-key-components/5.1-content/5.1-content-4.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
