Exploring Lists and Spatial Data

Registry Administrators, Registry Maintainers, and Registry Contributors can explore the lists and spatial data of the Geo-Object Types under the curation mandate of their organization.

Other users can explore lists and spatial data that the organization has made Public.

Opening a list

  1. Navigate to the Lists and Spatial Data page from the sidebar. On the left, click the Geo-Object Type under its organization, then click the title of the set.

  2. Find the date or period you want. To see a version's metadata, click Metadata (working version) or Version Metadata (published version).

  3. Expand the working version or a published version, and click List. Each link shows whether it's Public or Private, and Master or Non-master.

  4. The list opens. The top of the page shows the version, its visibility and authoritativeness, when it was generated, and the date the list is valid for.

Working with the list

  • Sort: click the arrows next to a column name to sort by that column.

  • Filter: type in the field under a column name to show only matching rows. Your sorting and filters are remembered the next time you open the version.

  • Also Show Invalid Geo-Objects: includes Geo-Objects marked as invalid.

  • Refresh: in a working version, rebuilds the list from the latest data. It runs in the background, with a progress bar.

Viewing the spatial data

To see the data on a map in the Explorer:

  • Click View on map at the top of the list.

  • Click the eye icon at the start of a row to open that Geo-Object in the Explorer.

  • On the set's page, click Spatial Data under a version.

See Explorer for how to use the map and view each Geo-Object's attributes, hierarchies, geometry and history.
